The site given was about 4900 sqft and located in Brickell City Centre. The goal was to create a workplace designed to accommodate neurodivergent or neurotypical employees. The next step was to pick another brand, and I chose to do a design based on NVIDIA, which relates to the growth of tech in Brickell but is also inspired by the concept of making this design look and operate like the inner workings of a computer, using materiality and structures to define the space. Another goal based on research is that the building is LEED certified. This became an additional challenge to push the design even further to see how I can make the whole floor stay within those LEED requirements. With that, I created a greywater system that irrigates an on-site food chamber that grows veggies and fruits, while not only promoting healthy eating habits within a workspace, but being able to provide free food for employees. The design included, desk options from custom seated to standing desks, an interactive VR space, a conference room, private call room, and custom wall panels wrapping around the space inspired by the bed of a 1950s Ford truck because I saw it one day and wanted to use it in one of my designs as I enjoy keeping the vintage alive and used it to my advantage here by representing how far we have come in technology.
Workplace but make it tech
Rendered Floor Plan
A before image of the space - Exiting the space and designed to be the lounge on plan view
A before image of the space - This area is the conference and food hall area based off the plan.
Providing options to step away from work activities such as interactive VR and hedge like seating to trick the eye into thinking they are outdoors in such a dense city that provides little vegetation.
Adhering to the buildings LEED certification and practices - Designed a grey water system to provide on-site food options
Entrance lobby
Marking the center of the building and made to look like a computer and its functions, an enclosure around the vertical circulation wrapped with manufactured wood and copper which a computer uses this material within their wiring and cooling systems. Under the staircase, provides an interior Zen garden that focuses on neurodivergent behavior.
